United in Fellowship Renovation Campaign |
The objective is to create and update fellowship space and support facilities. Background The building addition of 2003 created much needed classroom space, updated nursery facilities, offices to address a larger staff and a new narthex to facilitate worship and overall building egress. Recently adult meeting and study space has been created in the Calvin room and Media Center. Other areas in the church have also be renovated and redecorated in the past year. The building addition and other changes have created and developed space that address current building and safety codes and provide areas appropriate to receiving and learning Gods work in our church. The building addition also allowed specific youth areas to be created in the Café and Surf Shack to foster and allow expansion of the youth program. The remaining building element of our church life that has been untouched for many years is that in support of Fellowship. The main kitchen, dining room and fellowship hall, except for minor redecorating, have been untouched for 52 years. Also, the Parlor, Media Center and Kitchenette have remained the same as built 82 years ago. There has been some redecorating in these spaces over time, but for the most part they remain in original condition. Our Fellowship areas are not appropriate for our current needs and in some cases do not meet all current code requirements. The most meaningful item is that these areas are not supportive for fostering and expanding our Fellowship mission. Objectives The objectives of the United in Fellowship campaign are as follows:
The completion of these four projects can become a catalyst for FPCP to change as it moves forward. The church can continue to provide the things that it currently does so wonderfully, as well as be in the position to address our future needs in the service of Gods intended mission for FPCP. Financial Implications The completion of the four phases of the campaign will require $181,000. All revenues are to be generated from the goodwill of the congregation, with no private capital financing. For more information on the project, please call either Ken Black or Wayne Krupin.
